Together in Death BUT These Two Hated Each Other! This is the magnificent memorial to Sir George Blunt, brother of Bessie Blount and his wife in the St John the Baptist Church in Kinlet, Shropshire. As a tomb, it is a tour de force of Elizabethan design and fashion and punches way above its weight for the small parish church in which it is located. Sir George was Bessie Blount’s younger brother (Bessie was, of course, famously, the mistress of Henry VIII and mother to Henry’s acknowledged illegi
